Mimi
Mimi is the one who will answer your call, help you choose the right cycling route, match you with a suitable bike, and, if you're interested, even arrange a paragliding flight. She's the person who makes sure your adventure in Bovec runs smoothly from start to finish.
In her free time, Mimi is a dedicated outdoor enthusiast. She's been mountain biking for years, exploring trails all over the world. She's also at home in a kayak, especially on the turquoise waters of the Soča River – also her favourite color is soča color.
In recent years, road cycling has become one of her big passions, and she's also taken to the skies with paragliding. Kiteboarding is next on her list.
When winter arrives, Mimi swaps her bike and kayak for skis – enjoying the slopes with the same enthusiasm she brings to every sport. And sometimes, you might spot her on a snowboard… though she'll say it's just for fun.
She's also the main organiser of paragliding activities in Bovec. If you want to fly over the valley or go for a scenic road ride, Mimi is the one you'll speak to. She'll help you find the best time, the right conditions, and maybe even suggest something new to try.
And yes – when she's not outdoors, Mimi is a skilled music and piano teacher… though catching her indoors can be a challenge. Whether on the water, on a bike, or in the air, she brings the same energy, joy, and commitment to everything she does – always ready for the next adventure.
Rok
Rok is our cycling guide, bike mechanic, website manager… basically, the guy who keeps everything rolling at Sunny Side Cycling.
By profession, he's an IT engineer – but by heart, he's a sports addict. Seriously… if he spends more than one day resting at home, he becomes unbearable.
In summer, you'll find him riding his road bike or shredding trails on his MTB. He's conquered every major climb in the Soča Valley and ridden nearly every mountain pass in Slovenia – plus countless legendary ascents in the Swiss, French, and Italian Alps.
He's even had the chance to ride alongside Tour de France champion Tadej Pogačar a few times.
When the wind at the coast hits 20+ knots, he packs his gear and heads for the sea for a wild session of kitesurfing – that's when you'll see the biggest smile on his face.
If there's not enough time for a long ride, he'll hike up a hill instead. Once a year, he takes on a half marathon, only to spend the next week saying how much he regrets it because "everything hurts."
In winter, Rok is an excellent skier – but don't expect him on the steepest slopes. He loves wide, mellow runs, where he can race down fast and carve from edge to edge like a pro.
When he's not outside, he's probably photographing an event, riding his motorbike, lifting in the gym, or playing the accordion while waiting for the days to get longer again.
Just don't ask him to ride on the indoor trainer… he absolutely hates it.
